Premierleague.com rifles through the annals of the Barclays Premier League to find significant events.
Manchester United recovered from being 3-0 down at half-time to beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 at White Hart Lane in one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Barclays Premier League.
Dean Richards, making his debut after signing from Southampton, opened the scoring for Spurs before Les Ferdinand and Christian Ziege extended the lead.
But after the interval the champions were a transformed side and goals from Andy Cole, Laurent Blanc, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Juan Sebastian Veron and David Beckham completed a remarkable turnaround.
"What went wrong?" Glenn Hoddle, the Spurs manager, was asked.
"Half-time." he replied. “A great game? I can't take much comfort from that because I've got to look at my own team and we're in the business of trying to win football matches.”
