Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger signed four new players in August

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is pleased with the players who have joined the club recently.

Wenger bought four new players in August - Per Mertesacker, Yossi Benayoun, Mikel Arteta and Andre Santos.

But Arsenal have struggled this season and are down in 15th in the Barclays Premier League table.

However, Wenger said: "I'm very happy with the signings we made and my challenge now is to prove that I made the right decisions. I have great belief in the players I bought in and I am convinced they will prove me right."
