Pogatetz made 158 appearances for Middlesbrough between 2005 and 2010
West Ham United have completed the loan signing of former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz from Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg.
The 30-year-old, who spent five years at Boro between 2005 and 2010, has been signed until the end of the season with the Hammers having an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Pogatetz made 158 appearances for Boro, helping them reach the Uefa Cup final in 2006, and has been capped 52 times for Austria.
"I feel very good to be here and I am very excited about playing for West Ham," Pogatetz told West Ham’s official website.
