Newcastle United have made their first signing of the January transfer window with the capture of right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
The 27-year-old French international has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract after moving to St James' Park for an undisclosed fee.
"It is great to become a Newcastle United player," he told the club's official website. "After many great years at Lille I felt I was ready for a new challenge, and cannot wait to play for such a big club in the best league in the world.

The 30-year-old Israel international was a free agent after leaving Portsmouth in August. QPR boss Harry Redknapp told the club's official website: "Tal's a great professional with vast experience and I'm confident he'll be a really useful addition to the squad.
