Strike duo set for early Newcastle return

Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse could be back at the club next week

Demba Ba has scored 15 League goal so far this season for Newcastle

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew could have Senegal strikers Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse back at the club ahead of schedule.

The star duo have been competing in the Africa Cup of Nations for Senegal and would have been away until the middle of February if they had reached the final.

But Senegal have lost twice and are now unable to qualify for the knock-out stages.

"We have to understand the federation of Senegal's wishes, and also our own," said Alan Pardew. "Blackburn on Wednesday? That's probably tight, but we might try to get them back for that."

Key Points
