London rivals earn a point each at White Hart Lane

Emmanuel Adebayor was once again on target for Tottenham

London teams Tottenham and Chelsea earned a point each after a 1-1 draw in the Barclays Premier League at White Hart Lane.

Spurs went ahead in the eighth minute when Emmanuel Adebayor turned Gareth Bale's cross past Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

But Daniel Sturridge equalised in the 23rd minute when he tapped an easy goal from Ashley Cole's cross.

Both team had late chances to win but neither Ramires or Adebayor could find the net for the three points.

Tottenham stay third in the Barclays Premier League with 35 points, two points in front of Chelsea in fourth.
