Tony Pulis is determined to make sure Crystal Palace stay in the Barclays Premier League after being named as their new manager.
Pulis, who is 55 years old, takes over after Ian Holloway left the Palace job last month. Pulis was previously manager of Stoke City for seven years, and he kept them in the Premier League throughout his time there.
New Palace boss Pulis wants to keep his record of never being relegated as a football manager. The club are currently 19th in the league, after getting seven points from their first 12 matches.
He said: "When you're written off it gives you that determination and spur to push on. I would be delighted [to avoid relegation] and I'm sure everyone else at this football club would be."
