Fernando Torres scores for Spain in the Euro 2012 final win over Italy on Sunday

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres won the Golden Boot for top scorer at Euro 2012 as Spain won the title by thrashing Italy 4-0 in Kiev.

Torres scored in the final to finish on three goals, but he pipped Germany's Mario Gomez to the prize as he had the same number of assists (one) and had played for fewer minutes than Gomez.

UEFA picked their Team of the Tournament too, with 23 players included - and there were places for Manchester City duo David Silva and Mario Balotelli as well as Liverpool's England captain Steven Gerrard.

Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta was named Best Player of Euro 2012.
