Goalkeeper to miss tournament after breaking a finger in training session

Norwich's John Ruddy took part in England training at Manchester City on Thursday

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has been ruled out of UEFA Euro 2012 after breaking a finger during training.

The 25-year-old had been called up by England for the first time, but he has now been replaced in the squad by Birmingham City's Jack Butland.

Ruddy will travel with the squad to Norway to watch England's friendly in Oslo on Saturday, but then will rejoin his club to get fit for the 2012/13 season.
