Emmanuel Adebayor will play for Spurs on Saturday before travelling to South Africa

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that their striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been called to represent Togo in the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Adebayor will be available for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League match against Queens Park Rangers but will then travel to South Africa for the tournament which begins on January 19 and finishes on February 10.

Wisdom commits to Liverpool

Liverpool have announced that 19-year-old defender Andre Wisdom has signed “long-term” contract at the club.

Wisdom scored on his senior debut with a goal against Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League and has made eight appearances in the Barclays Premier League.

Wisdom follows Luis Suarez, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Suso, Raheem Sterling, Brad Jones and Jonjo Shelvey in committing his future to the club since the summer.
