Manchester United sign Mata from Chelsea

Spanish midfielder joins Man Utd in club record transfer from the Blues

Manchester United have signed Juan Mata from Chelsea for a club-record fee of £37.1m.

The Spain midfielder's move is the most expensive in the Barclays Premier League of the January transfer window so far.

Mata, who is 25 years old, won the UEFA Champions League and Europa League in two seasons with Chelsea.

He has scored 18 goals and made 27 assists in the Barclays Premier League since he joined Chelsea in August 2011.
