Giggs takes charge of Man Utd after Moyes' exit

Manchester United have confirmed that they have parted company with their manager David Moyes and replaced him with Ryan Giggs on a temporary basis.

Moyes, who replaced Sir Alex Ferguson as manager last summer, leaves Old Trafford with the Barclays Premier League champions lying in seventh place.

A club statement read: "Manchester United has announced that David Moyes has left the club. The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role."

United have also announced that player coach Giggs will take over as interim manager until the end of the season.
