Man Utd midfielder Ryan Giggs has been in superb form once again this season

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has signed a one-year extension to his contract, meaning he will play for the club until the end of the 2012-13 season.

The 38-year-old Welshman made his debut for United in March 1991 and has played 898 matches for the club, winning 12 Barclays Premier League titles in the process.

Ryan said: "When I signed my first contract, I never thought I'd be able to play at United for 22 years, but I feel good and I know I can still contribute to keeping the team pushing for honours."
