Manchester City have been handed a timely boost with the news striker Sergio Aguero's injury is not as bad as they feared.

The Argentine, 24, suffered a knee problem during their 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday and was stretchered off.

But boss Roberto Mancini said: "I don't think Sergio will be out for long and we are hoping he will be back after the international break, which is fantastic news for us."

City's first game after the break is against Stoke City on 15th September.
