Michu pens new deal with Swansea

Free-scoring Spaniard and West Ham United defender Guy Demel sign new contracts

Michu has scored 13 goals so far for Swansea in the Barclays Premier League

Michu has given Swansea City a boost by signing a new four-year contract that commits him to the club until 2016.

The 26-year-old Spaniard has been an instant hit at the Liberty Stadium since being brought to Wales from Rayo Vallecano by manager Michael Laudrup last summer.

He has scored 16 goals in all competitions to help Swansea move into ninth place in the League and reach the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup.

"It was an easy decision for me," Michu told the club's official website after agreeing a one-year contract extension.

"I am living a dream here at Swansea. I'm probably enjoying my football more than ever."
