Giroud goal gives Arsenal derby win

Arsenal beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium

Olivier Giroud scored the only goal as Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0

Arsenal beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

French striker Olivier Giroud scored the only goal after 23 minutes, when he turned Theo Walcott's cross past Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Mathieu Flamini also made his first appearance for the Gunners since joining them this summer. Spurs' new signing Erik Lamela also came on as a substitute.

Both teams now have six points after three matches in the new Barclays Premier League season.
