Frank Lampard to miss Euro 2012

Chelsea star ruled out, Liverpool's Jordan Henderson takes his place

Frank Lampard has won 90 caps for England since his debut against Belgium in 1999

Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard has been ruled out of UEFA Euro 2012 with a thigh injury.

Frank picked up the injury in training on Wednesday morning and was given the bad news after having a scan on Thursday.

"The fact that the doctor cannot guarantee Frank could take part in any of the group matches means we have to replace him in the central midfield area," said England manager Roy Hodgson.

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson has been called up to the squad as Lampard's replacement.
