Ferguson: We will not sign Frank Lampard

Man Utd boss says the rumours saying he will buy Chelsea star are wrong

Frank Lampard has been one of the superstars for Chelsea in recent years

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says he will not be signing Chelsea star Frank Lampard.

Clubs are allowed to sign new players in January and some reports suggested that United would try to buy Frank from Chelsea, but Sir Alex said that was not true.

"There's no foundation in that. Chelsea want to do something in the second half of the season so they want to keep their best players," he said Ferguson.

Lampard has made 509 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and West Ham, scoring 149 times.
