Roy Hodgson says star midfielder Scott Parker has shaken off an ankle injury

Scott Parker was suffering with an ankle injury towards the end of the season

England have received a boost after manager Roy Hodgson said Tottenham Hotspur star Scott Parker should be fit for Euro 2012.

Some fans were worried that Scott, who had a heel injury towards the end of last season, would not be fit enough to play in the summer's big tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

But Roy said: "He'll be getting fitter by the day, as will Wayne Rooney, and we're quite happy that by the time we play France [in England's first match] people will be in good physical shape."
