Everton's Apostolos Vellios scored the first goal in the 3-1 win over Bolton
Everton ended their Group 1 campaign on a high as goals from Apostolos Vellios, Matthew Kennedy and Ross Barkley helped to secure a 3-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers at the County Ground.
The away side took the lead after 11 minutes through Vellios and, against the run of play, Bolton equalised with a penalty from Marvin Sordell.
It took only 11 minutes after half-time for Everton to regain the lead, this time Vellios the provider for Kennedy. The win was finally secured in stoppage time after Magaye Gueye’s cross was converted by Barkley.
Everton finish the first half of the season in fourth in Group 1, and progress to the Qualification Group Tier 1 along with the fourth and fifth-placed teams from the three groups as well as one third-placed team from Groups 2 or 3.
