Boruc signs new Southampton contract

Southampton's first choice goalkeeper signs contract to stay for two more seasons

Artur Boruc has become Southampton's first-choice goalkeeper this season

Southampton have announced that goalkeeper Artur Boruc has signed a new two-year contract.

The 33-year-old has become the first-choice goalkeeper at St Mary's and he has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2015.

The Poland international has started the last 15 matches with only four of those ending in defeat.

Boruc told the club's website: "As a club, I believe we can achieve a lot over the next two years, and I'm looking forward to that.

"As I’ve said before, [the Premier League] is probably the best place to play football and nothing has changed my mind on that since I came to Southampton."
