Adam Lallana joins Liverpool after helping Southampton finish eighth last season

Liverpool have signed attacking midfielder Adam Lallana from Southampton.

The 26-year-old, who was part of England's FIFA World Cup squad in Brazil this summer, scored nine goals in 38 matches last season as Southampton finished eighth in the Barclays Premier League.

Lallana came through the youth ranks at Southampton and made his debut for the club in 2006. He helped Saints get back-to-back promotions to reach the Barclays Premier League in 2012.
